COOLFLO fans have established their record to consistently perform at better than guaranteed performance levels. The concept of replacing conventional fans with hollow FRP blade fan in Cooling Tower for Energy Savings was introduced for the first time in India by the COOLFLO team way back in 1981 (Refer list of Research Publications of Directors). Since then, tens of thousands of fans have been replaced for energy conservation alone.

In all the fan replacements, the technical service groups of various clients have carried out rigorous joint performance tests on these fans and have found very convincing energy savings of COOLFLO Fans, much better than guaranteed.

COOLING TOWERS & AIR COOLED CONDENSERS:

In National Organic Chemicals Ltd. back in 1991, the entire plant cooling tower fan requirements (8 Nos. of 22 ft. dia. and 2 Nos. of 24 ft. dia.) for Energy Savings have been met with by COOLFLO fans. In Reliance industries Ltd., (RIL), Patalganga, the Energy Centre cooling tower fan(8534 mm Dia.) replacements for energy conservation have been done by COOLFLO, more than 25 years ago. In Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers, Trombay, & Thal for the energy efficient modifications of various plants: Steam Generation, Sulphuric Acid, Ammonia, Urea and Methanol plants, COOLFLO fans are operating for many years. In IFFCO, Kalol & Phulpur cooling towers, whole plant cooling tower fans have been replaced by COOLFLO for energy savings. Grasim Industries Ltd., (a flagship Company of Birla Group), Chemical Division, has chosen only COOLFLO fans to replace all their cooling tower fans. Other Birla Group companies like Renusagar Power Co. and Hi-Tech Carbon have also achieved energy savings with COOLFLO fans. On the basis of this, various Birla companies in Thailand and Indonesia have also replaced existing fans with ‘COOLFLO’ fans for energy conservation. In the Indian Petro-Chemicals Corporation Ltd., and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., at their different refineries/plants, COOLFLO fans have been chosen for energy efficiency improvements.

During 1980s, Largest fan in cooling towers in India was at Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) Ltd., Neyveli at Thermal Power Station-I. These fans have a diameter of 34 ft.(10.36 mtr.) and are driven by 325 HP motors. The original fans supplied by French Company (Neu France) had stainless steel blades. As an import substitution, to save FOREX and for Energy Conservation, NLC has specified use of only COOLFLO Hollow FRP blade fans. COOLFLO has supplied 40 Nos. of 34 Ft.Dia. fans with more than 15 to 20 percent energy savings when compared to the existing fans.

Southern Petrochemicals & Industries Corporation (SPIC) Ltd., Tuticorin, has chosen only ‘COOLFLO’ fans (15 nos. of 24 ft. dia. fans) for their Ammonia & Urea plant Cooling Tower Energy Conservation. For ammonia plant de-bottle necking, ‘COOLFLO’ fans have been put in service with 10 to 15% MORE AIR-FLOW. BMM Ispat Ltd., Hospet in India replaced 26 sets 9725 mm Dia. Aluminium Fans with COOLFLO Fans for energy conservation in their Air Cooled Condensers.

Many Organizations in India: Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd., National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd., IFFCO Phulpur, Kalol, Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd., Vizag Steel Plant, Steel Authority Of India Ltd., BMM Ispat Jindal Power Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Mahul Refinery, Mumbai, Hindusthan Petroleum Ltd., Mahul Refinery, Mumbai, Refineries of Indian Oil Corporation Limited at Mathura, Haldia, Vadodara & Gauhati have preferred COOLFLO Fans for Energy Savings and DE bottle -necking with fan Diameters varying from 1,800 MM to 12,000 MM.
